Dr. Mitul Patel
Dr. Mitul Patel, DO, is an interventional cardiologist at Heart, Vascular, and Vein of Tampa Bay. He was born in New Jersey but moved to the Tampa Bay area when he was 2 years old. Dr. Patel completed his bachelor’s degree in biomedical science with minors in public health and biomedical physics at the University of South Florida.
In 2017, he earned his medical degree from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine Bradenton campus. Dr. Patel then returned to the Tampa Bay area and completed all of his postgraduate training at HCA Florida Bayonet Point Hospital in Hudson, FL. He served as the chief resident during his Internal Medicine Residency in 2020. Dr. Patel went on to complete his General Cardiology Fellowship in 2023 and was named the chief fellow. In 2024, he completed sub-fellowship training in Interventional Cardiology, specializing in coronary, peripheral, and structural interventions.
Dr. Patel is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease. He is also board-eligible in interventional cardiology. Additionally, he is an active member of the American College of Cardiology (ACC), American College of Physicians (ACP), and Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI).
Outside of his medical practice, Dr. Patel is a true Tampa native. He enjoys supporting the local sports teams, spending time with family and friends, and exploring the vibrant city. Dr. Patel is dedicated to providing exceptional, personalized care to each patient and is proud to be a part of the Heart, Vascular, and Vein team.
